Conservatives at a Passion Party?!

In my continuing efforts to point out to the populace that Conservatives are not necessarily a prudish bunch of preachers, I feel compelled to announce that I will be spending the evening with a bunch of like-minded Conservatives and their spouses (cousins actually) at a Passion Party ! Believe it or not, as much as the Libs would like everyone else to believe otherwise, there is a whole movement of Conservatives who are tattooed, pierced, alternatively styled, up-right citizens who happen to subscribe to no specific organized religion but have good moral values and a strong love of country. Hey Libs, put that in your crack pipe and smoke it!

Protest Warrior HQ Announcement

Announcement directly from the founders of PW: "Well, you've probably seen our picture in the recent cover story on Ann Coulter in Time Magazine where we were presented as anti-war protesters, holding signs such as "Criminals for Gun Control" and "Liberating Iraqi Children from Tyranny - It's Costing too Much." We can only imagine the consternation in the editors room when they realized what a mistake they made, but we'd like to thank Time just the same for the publicity, we couldn't think of a better time for it. Today we are proud to announce the premiere of the ProtestWarrior Anthology on DVD. Until now you could only watch our films at 512kb a second, but now you can experience the saga as it was meant to be seen, on the big screen with re-mastered Dolby Logic sound. Crashing the Protests, Answer Infiltrated, Eagle Strike, Wolverines and Liberty Rising and one special surprise, our new feature film Entering Zion. Originally planned as a sm

Justice Prevails

"Hasan Akbar has robbed me of so many things," Tammie Eslinger, Maj. Gregory Stone's fiancee, said after the sentencing. "He stole my love, my family, my dreams and my future. But he could never steal my spirit." Seifert's widow, Theresa, said she was satisfied with the military justice system. She called Akbar "a nonentity to me." Justice has been served . My condolences to members of the 101st Airborne and their families who suffered at the hands of this traitor.

Consumer Activism

I'm still sticking to my boycott of French wines. Nothing's changed on that front to make me even consider buying another bottle of French wine. I have noted recently a steep decline in the cost of a bottle of froggy wine too. It does my heart good! Now, to the list of my personal boycotts, I am forced to add the local music emporium known as ear X-tacy . I have always liked the fact that they promote local music and sell CDs from local bands that are otherwise a bit hard to procure. However, they have now entered into a political pact with one of Louisville's most anti-American organizations: LPAC. LPAC has procured a scrolling sign that ear x-tacy has agreed to place in their window. That sign is nothing more than propaganda to encourage other pacifists to object to our war on terror. Their propaganda tool scrolls the following messages: **IRAQ WAR COST $164,201,378,546---$164 BILLION ! ! **....KY DEAD---20 **U.S. DEAD---1562----U.S.WOUNDED---11,664 **IRAQ WAR COST TO K

PW Mission Sunday

On Sunday, May 1st, Protest Warrior will be countering the monthly LPAC "candle light vigil" at Bardstown Rd and Douglass Loop. All liberty-lovers are welcome to join us around 7pm at that intersection. PW has signs to lend you. All you need to bring is your attitude! You can put your intellect on idle for this; it never seems to be needed -- the LPACers self-destruct when threatened with intellect. We don't want to cause any spontaneous combustion even among the Libs since we're a peaceful group! ;-)

Under my Skin

Okay, this is not news. It's not even a relatively new development. However, it is SO under my skin right now that I have to vent. Can someone please explain to me how the heck we went from referring to the party of Democrats as the " Democratic " party?! The Republican party is not referred to as the "Republicanic" party, nor is the Green party referred to as the "Greenic" party, nor is the Libertarian party referred to as the "Libertarianic" party! The semantics of this make me crazy. This is a complete hijack of the use of a term describing an ideal to which we aspire to mean a specific party. Where do I lodge the protest? with Howard Dean? YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!

Site Recommendations?

I've recently noticed a number of visitors coming from ".mil" domains. I try to support the military in as many ways as possible (blogging, donating, writing to service members, and counter-protesting with Protest Warrior). I usually research the links I provide and sites I mention on my blog. The best research ever on these types of sites would be recommendations from service members. If any of you have suggestions for good military information websites, sites of organizations that support our troops, or good military blogs I'd sure appreciate the info. Thank you for your service to our country and thanks in advance for any info you can send my way!

Digital Freedom Network

While taking a break from the mind-numbing exercise of chasing down an ACIF indexer error (don't ask), I ran across a site I thought worth passing on to all who love liberty. The Digital Freedom Network is a great site! Historic information, current events, great collections of writings, and a mission worth pursuing: Digital Freedom Network (DFN) is a non-profit group that seeks to promote human rights as an attainable goal for all countries. Evident in our writing, we believe that free enterprise, limited government, rule of law and individual freedom are the most effective means to ensure the rights of men and women across the world.

God, Hope, and Johnny Cash

Taking a quick break from work and reading BLACKFIVE's blog , I ran across the most amazing piece of prose I have ever read on a blog. His writing is profoundly moving. Thanks for surfacing Michael's writing , BLACKFIVE.

QVC for Insomniac Liberty-Lovers

Okay, it's obviously an insomniac evening for me... still awake well after 1400 hours. So, for those of you interested in a little shopping, check out this "way cool" (in the words of Mary Matalin, no less) magnet . It should be added to everyone's list of things to display proudly! Not only are you purchasing a symbol of recent history but you are supporting a great cause. Keep up the good work and hang in there, Iraqis! As can be seen from a walk through the history of our young country , building a nation on principles of democracy, freedom, and values is no easy task. Almost 229 years and we're still working hard to keep those principles on which our country was built solidly in place while we grapple with societal changes. It's hard work that no liberty loving American would ever shun.

Irony is the sincerest form of criticism

While the idiot Leftists here in Louisville were protesting the use of military aircraft in the Thunder over Louisville airshow on Saturday, US soldiers from Task Force Baghdad were aided by an Iraqi civilian in the capture of 10 suspects in the downing of a helicopter carrying civilians last Thursday. Evidently that Iraqi civilian enjoyed the airshow our forces provide to keep him safe -- his bravery in providing a tip to the task force is being applauded by liberty-loving Iraqis (see the April 23rd entry). Gee old hippies, while you were busy protesting our "warplanes," Iraqis were helping the good guys eradicate a few more terrorists. Time well spent, eh? Sheesh.

Protest Warrior's Press Conference

In the interest of historical accuracy, I am posting the statement that was made by Robert on behalf of Protest Warrior during our press conference Saturday. Nice job, Robert! Well-done, Warriors! "First we want to express our thanks to the media for being here. I know that if the Louisville Peace Action Committee had not scheduled their protest today of military involvement in Thunder over Louisville many of you would be down at the waterfront either covering the airshow itself or enjoying it with your families so we thank you all once again. The purpose of Protest Warrior's counter-demonstration against LPAC is to show our support and gratitude to the Kentucky Derby Festival for its efforts to put on a spectacular event like Thunder over Louisville. In addition, we want to publicly thank all the Thunder sponsors -- Chase, Caesars, Ford, and UPS for providing their funding and unwavering support for this annual event that hundreds of thousands of people enjoy each year. And t

Mission Accomplished!

Protest Warrior took to the streets downtown today to counter-protest the lunkhead leftists from LPAC as they protested the use of military aircraft in the airshow today on the waterfront. Despite the wind and the cold, today's mission was probably one of our most successful to date, thanks to a press release and a wonderful statement crafted by one of our talented members (also a FReeper), Robert. For a full and very entertaining description of today's events that includes some great photography, please check out the blog of one of our other talented members, Paul. Among our chosen weapons for the mission today were Old Glory flying high and proud in the wind, all of the military services' songs (with a few other great tunes) cranked up to full volume, and a new batch of clever signs cooked up by our Leader, Brandon. Oh, and of course, the broad smiles that always paint our faces on these missions. I was proud to be there today and prouder than ever of the die-hard Prote

Protest Warrior Mission Alert Y'all!

What group in Louisville could possibly be peeved about " Thunder Over Louisville ?" Who could possibly want to protest one of the most exciting days down on the riverfront every year? Thaaaat's right... our buddies at LPAC and their cronies! :-p Thanks to LPAC, not a single dedicated Protest Warrior will be on the Great Lawn enjoying the Air Show on Saturday. The Lunkhead Lefties have decided to protest the use of military aircraft (oh, excuse me, that's " warplanes " in the parlance of the moonbats) in the air show. Yep, that's right. They don't want our military aircraft in the skies over the enemy while we're at war and they don't want our military aircraft entertaining the masses in the skies over Louisville either. Are you tired of reading about the Lefties in the paper every time they whine? Me too. Come on out and join us on Saturday -- you wouldn't believe how much fun it is! I have a map and timetable to send your way if you wa

Trivial Tidbits

Thanks to the Reader's Digest , I feel much more informed today! Oral injuries sustained during tooth-brushing account for 2,489 emergency room visits a year. 67% of dog and cat owners regularly sleep with their pets. So far, no ER visits for oral injuries, but I do sleep with my cat (and she snores).

Treasonist and Idiot

This email was recently sent my way by friends who are retired from the military. I thought I'd take the liberty to post the communique here. The only research I've done is to check Snopes to see if this item was reported as a hoax or an urban legend. It's not to be found in either category. It seems this is simply one man's heart-felt letter to one of America's most publicized traitors. God bless you, CMSgt Sampson , for speaking from the heart and thank you for your service! Even though Hanoi Jane will likely reap her reward in hell for her cruelty and idiocy, she deserves to be reminded (hourly if possible) of the hell she personally helped to create for our POWs and our troops during the Vietnam war. "JANE FONDA That she was recognized by Barbara Walters in connection with an award of greatness lends credence to stories of her disloyalty and only serves to increase my contempt for her and the liberal media. Time for a Opinion

I have seen both sides of this political dilemma... Conservative gal dates Liberal fella and Liberal gal dates Conservative fella. From what I can tell it seems that the Conservative guys are more tolerant of Liberal gals and Liberal guys are more tolerant of Conservative women. Why is that? I have been dating for almost five years now -- every political persuasion from political Apathetics to Liberal tree-huggers. I find that I have almost no tolerance for apathy or conspiracy-minded Libs. I have a real problem with tolerance. That's a problem because, apparently, I attract a lot of Apathetics and Libs. Don't ask me why... I live and breathe my political ideology and stay very active within it. This is becoming a problem! Do men find it easier to tolerate someone with opposing politics? Do women generally just avoid thinking, talking about, and/or getting involved in politics? Is that what makes it easier for men? Am I doomed to date only Apathetics or Libs? Anyone have an opi

'splain it to me, Lucy...

I have been a steadfast supporter of President Bush through thick and thin; however, now that he's no longer going to be running for re-election, I have a question for him: Why would any Conservative in his right mind call these great Americans "vigilantes?!" Take a look at the photos of our borders in Arizona that are posted on their site. I used to feel a bit safer knowing we now had a group of people dedicated at high levels to Homeland Security. Now, well, I'm willing to donate to this cause because they are actually taking some action rather than relying on the government. That's the kind of Conservatism that won the Revolutionary War. Bravo, Minutemen!! An interesting aside: I visited the website of the Department of Homeland Security to read their "Border Patrol Strategy" -- here's what came up in my browser: "404 - Requested Page Not Found on Site The page you requested, http://uscis.gov/graphics/shared/lawenfor/bpatrol/strategy.htm, is

Derby Festival is Nigh

Reminder for all you Kentuckians: It is almost that time again -- Derby Festival! This year's festival is the 50th Derby Festival and it promises to be a great time. Check out the schedule at the Kentucky Derby Festival 's website. I'll be kicking my personal festival calendar off for once with an evening at The Fillies' Derby Ball on April 22nd. If you're interested in attending, please check out the information on the webpage and join us! And hey, if you can't make the Derby Ball, come on down to Pegasus Parade on May 5th. Look for yours truly and wave hello -- I'll be marching with The Fillies float in the parade. And so, here we go y'all... it's Derby Festival time again!

Bad Mojo for the Cards

Call me superstitious but the Cards hadn't lost a play-off game until my brother and his buddy got tickets and drove to St. Louis to see the Cards play in the Final Four. My brother and his buddy had not attended a Cards game during the play-off unti that fatal Saturday in St. Louis. Coincidence?... Seriously though, my condolences to all the Cards fans (count me among them) who watched their hopes for the big dance dashed on Saturday. Illinois sucked the Cards into playing their game -- it's this gal's humble opinion that the Cards should have kept to their own game and consistently scored the 2-pointers instead of the wild shooting they engaged in for the field goal points. Obviously, Illinois is much better at those. 'Nuff said. We're looking forward to making it to the big dance next year, Petino.

The World Turns...

It's been quite some time since my last entry to this blog. For that, I apologize. So few hours in the day and even fewer the more hobbies one has! Since last time I blogged, the world has changed. Terri Schiavo was killed with the consent of the Florida legal system; Pope John Paul II has shed his mortal coil and gone to his reward. The irony of the timing of these deaths does not go unnoticed by this mere mortal; nor should it go unnoticed by the public at large. Terri Schiavo and her family's court battles brought some very important moral issues to the mainstream for the first time in a very long time. The Pope's death has reminded everyone of what it means to be courageous and stand on the right side of these same moral issues. The Lord does work in mysterious ways and only the spiritually blind will not be able to see His works here. Anyone who hasn't already done so should say a prayer of thanks this evening for all of the good His servant, Pope John Paul II, h

Ode to Blogging

I thought I was just one ordinary person with a wealth of opinions who liked to write. Blogging made my writing and my opinions public. Friends I had lost touch with over the years found me again via my blog. I am happy to be a part of the blogosphere; I am even happier to have been "found again!" The internet is an amazing place -- full of all kinds of connections. Thanks to all who have written to reconnect. This reminds me of a song we sang in the Girl Scouts (oh yes, decades ago): "Make new friends but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold." These are golden times.
