Got plans for Labor Day weekend?

If you live in or are visiting someone in the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana area over Labor Day weekend, here's an event you might find fun. (Note: American Solutions is Gingrich's group so, if you're a strict Constitutionalist, the messages might be a little irritating; however, King's Island is a lot of fun and it's probably worth it.) To view this email as a web page, go here. Have any plans for Labor Day weekend? We ask because on Saturday, September 4 at King's Island in Ohio, the Cincinnati Tea Party and the Ohio Liberty Council are holding a very exciting event that we thought you might be interested in. The event, called " Friends of Liberty Day ," will be a celebration of American Freedom, and you'll have the opportunity to enjoy rides, attractions, speakers, and good company with friends and family-all at a special discounted price. This is a great opportu

So, I'm also a "nativist" now?

I know she rubs a lot of people, independents as well as liberals, the wrong way but Ann Coulter is FUNNY! Yes, she's snide and ascerbic but it's just so delicious when blended, Ann style, with remarks directly from the radical Left. I believe the Bluegrass state has just been called "nativist" without any evidence at all! Was Kentucky's father a nativist? Was it educated in a nativist madrassa as a child? Did Kentucky just endorse the idea of a nativist cultural center at Ground Zero? Read the full piece, " MSNBC Swears to Allah That Obama's Not A Muslim " for a good laugh. For the record, I don't really give a rat's arse what religion Obama practices. I'm not much on organized religion myself. All I ask is that a President to uphold his oath of office. However, apparently, that makes me a "nativist." Go figure.

From "Kook" to "Reasonable Conservative" with just one statement?

I have begun contributing pieces to a local media outlet -- I think I've mentioned this previously in a post on ConservaChick. It took a while for me to get my thoughts together on this new media fascination with Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) thanks to his statement on the "Ground Zero mosque" -- ha! Take that, AP! -- controversy. I'm lazy this evening and, instead of approaching it again in a different fashion for readers of this blog, I thought I'd simply link you to it on WLKY's Local Voices instead. Forgive me? From "Kook" to "Reasonable Conservative" with just one statement?

Same as the Old Boss...

Earmarks were used to bribe Republicans to support the prescription drug benefit and TARP. Earmarks were used to bribe Democrats to support Obamacare. Earmarks are a drug and the GOP, to absolve itself of its own sins, publicly declared that House Republicans would give up the very corrupting practice. But it was all for show, or so it seems. House Republican Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA) declares earmarks will be back in full swing once the GOP takes back Congress. With Eric Cantor (R-VA) already talking about a rollback of the Republican ban on earmarks if they reclaim majority status, limited government activists can be sure that our message has NOT gotten through to the establishment GOP in DC. This is sad. It reminds me a lot of what happened in '94 when the Contract With America helped sweep the GOP back into power. Dick Armey commented that term limits were no longer necessary as the GOP was back in power. Nice, eh? Apparently, the GOP in DC continues to miss the point

Brilliantly funny!

If you're like me, you've probably gotten sucked into the Facebook thing. I don't mean the Farmville, Farkle, Mob Wars side of Facebook; I mean the status updates and random things that are shared by your friends. It's a constant source of entertainment for me. Heck, the internet is too big for us to have to comb it for amazing humor all alone. Why not let your friends find the good stuff for you? If you're a history buff AND a Facebooker, you'll giggle yourself silly reading these... Enjoy! OMG WWII on Facebook ! If Historical Events had Facebook Statuses [A BIG thank you to David and Ann for sharing these with me on FB!]

The Difference between Republicans and Democrats

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him to come to his business for a job. He then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person. The Democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help. He walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office. He then reached into the Republican's pocket and got out twenty dollars. He kept $15 for administrative fees and gave the homeless person five. Now you understand the difference between Republicans & Democrats. [Of course, we all know *this particular difference* doesn't apply between the two parties anymore but this joke was a little too funny not to share. Thanks to my Tea Party compatriot, Mark, for sending it my way today!]

545 People

Over the past two years, I have probably received this same email about six times. It containing the text of an article by a journalist named Charley Reese numerous times from different folks. Charley wrote for the Orlando Sentinel for thirty years and retired in 2001. I understand why I'm seeing it more frequently lately; however, I hope the folks forwarding it have given serious thought to it. I fear the frivolous thoughts that run something like, "Yeah! Obama, Pelosi, and Reid suck!" Unconstructive, unenlightened, and destined to fail, again. I hope the line of thought is as serious and constructive as, "How can I be a part of stopping this insanity?" The problem stated clearly in Charley's article is that WE the People are the problem when we choose to send those 545 people back to Congress to continue doing what they've always done. While the 545 who blame vague entities like "the economy" and "politics" keep playing that game,

How to Trump the Race Card

Watch this outstanding video from Sonja Schmidt at PJTV:   " Philadelphia Freedom: Uni-Tea Speakers Tell Sonja Schmidt How to Trump the Race Card "    It's wonderful to see fellow Conservatives stand up the the constant idiocy of Liberal media who label people based on the color of their skin.

The joke isn't funny anymore...

I admit it. I sent Barack Obama an online birthday greeting the other day as a joke. It wasn't a very nice greeting, actually. It was a very straight forward critique of his job so far as POTUS, an earnest request for him to stop dividing this country by playing the race card non-stop, and to drop the golf outings in favor of a trip to our Southern borders, along with my best wishes for a one-term presidency. I thought it was kind of fun and got a giggle out of it. Evidently, not only did his handlers not bother to READ the greeting, they sent me a thank you note. That thank you note from Mitch Stewart was followed up by another one from the Emperor himself. And now, if all the thank you notes weren't enough, I am being spammed by OFA to request my help in supporting their Marxist, Banana Republic agenda. This is freakin' ridiculous. I guess it's got to be the first time in US history that a President has ever trapped email addresses for his brown shirts to use to spa

Rock On, Uncle Ted!

NUGENT: It is us We're the ones who allowed anti-Americans to take over America "Barack Hussein Obama did not sneak into power. An army of clueless, disconnected, ignorant Americans invited him to bring his Marxist, glaringly anti-American jihad into our lives. This president's overtly destructive, clear-and-present-danger agenda is surpassed in transparency only by his ultra-leftist public voting record and overall lifetime conduct of consorting with the enemy as a child and student of Marxism, socialist and racist community organizer, congregant of the blatant America-hating black-theology- and social-justice-spewing Rev. Jeremiah Wright and close personal friend of convicted communist terrorists like Bill Ayers, and by his unflinching appointment of an array of communist czars, including Van Jones, Cass Sunstein, Anita Dunne, et al. So let me get this straight: You claim your intentions were noble because you simply wanted to get your child a puppy but somehow didn

They say tea is good for you.

In an interesting turn of events today, I received notice of two related subjects:  Upcoming events for the Doctors Tea Parties and an OpenSecrets blog entry examining the political contributions rolling in to members of the new Tea Party Caucus in Congress. Guess which group is among those making the largest campaign contributions to the Tea Party Caucus... yep, doctors! Rightly so, if you ask me, as their livelihoods are at risk with the Banana Republic style takeover that we all know is right at hand. What took me a bit by surprise in the list of contributors was the large contributions from retirees. If these are retirees looking to protect their government-subsidized retirements and/or medicare, then we certainly have a fly in the tea, ladies and gentlemen. That is NOT what the Tea Party movement is all about. However, if these retirees are hoping to protect their grandchildren from financial slavery, well then, we do indeed have a party and that tea will certainly hit the spot!

What A Resemblance!

From my Aunt in Tennessee... I knew he reminded me of somebody famous....                   On the left is "Walter," Jeff Dunham's dummy.                             The one on the right is Obama's...

It is Up to Us. – Tenth Amendment Center

We now have a Kentucky chapter of the Tenth Amendment Center . Thanks to Michael Maharrey for stepping up and becoming the state coordinator, we will have a voice in this movement. Judging by his first editorial, I'd say our chapter's in good hands! It is Up to Us. – Tenth Amendment Center

Congratulations, Virginia! Thanks for leading the charge. I just wish Kentucky had your back on this. Unfortunately, our current AG is apparently one of Obama's boys. The AMA sends talking points on Obamacare to doctors. Who's in Obama's back pocket?...

Is the AMA in Obama's Back Pocket? By Alieta Eck, MD CLICK HERE TO READ ONLINE AND COMMENT In the recent AMNews, June 7, 2010, pp 6-7, we physicians were given talking points on how to tell our patients about ObamaCare.  It was so full of "happy-speak" that one must wonder if the AMA has paid lobbyists for the Administration. A typical question might be, "What's in it for me?"    We are to say "For many patients who don't have coverage and can't afford it, the government in 2014 will offer sliding scale credits to buy a plan… Employers also are going to be expected to step up to the plate, offering coverage or kicking in part of the premium for employees who sign up for plans through the insurance exchanges." Of course, that is assuming that our patients still have jobs.  But we must not say that. Our patients might ask, "Are Medicare or Medicaid going to help more?"  O
