I am truly sorry to hear that Senator Bunning will not be seeking re-election. Unfortunately, he was the only person who stood steadfast for Conservative Kentuckians in the Senate. His voice was our voice. He made no bones about it when he disagreed with Mitch McConnell. He voted my conscience on issues about which I cared deeply. I am truly sorry to see him thrown under the bus by back-biting GOP here in Kentucky. *sigh* I suppose this is yet another reason to drop my GOP party affiliation. Let the Republicans sort their own candidates out. I'll vote my conscience as I've always done regardless of the common sentiment that a vote for a third party candidate is a vote wasted. I'll "waste" a vote before I'll ever vote for a candidate who does not serve me in Congress. Thank you for serving me so well in the Capitol, Senator Bunning. This Conservative will miss having her voice heard on the Hill when you retire. God speed.

I apologize for being unable to post the live feed to ConservaChick for the "Honor ther Service" troopathon on Thursday. I hope you all checked in on their live feed without waiting for me. I just checked in on the Move America Forward website and got the final number. The Troopathon raised a total of $603,049.14 ! While it's a darned shame that Breitbart got to keep his beautiful curly locks because the million dollar mark wasn't reached, that is a fantastic amount of money for care packages for our troops!! Way to go, MAF! Way to rally behind our troops, America!

I did not post about the earmark Obama requested when it was written about in National Review last year -- the information was interesting and noteworthy but was filed away for future reference. Heck, I disengaged from the campaign after John McCain won the nomination anyway. Believe me, I don't want to belittle the protesters in Iran or intimate, in any way, that they are not risking their lives for the opportunity to influence their government; however, I feel the need to post an opinion on one small technicality that has been glaringly overlooked by the media in their coverage of the protests in Iran. The elections in Iran are not, in any real sense of the word, democratic. Every candidate on the ballot has been "100% Mullah-approved." Whether it is Mousavi or Ahmedinijad, the candidate has been appointed to run for election. No primaries were run to select these candidates. The general election in Iran simply serves to guarantee that the theocratic rulers of Iran have one of their hand-picked leaders elected with a show of "democracy" for the world press.
