No one understands the irony of ignorant, self-important elitists better than smart, courageous warriors. Hooah! Thanks for the laugh, Troops!
Oh by the way, Senator Kerry sends his apologies -- he didn't mean to insult YOU; he simply meant to insult your Commander-in-Chief. This comes just after the Dems told him to crawl back under the rock from whence he came. Apparently there are a few proud Americans left on that side of the aisle.

It was crystal clear to me that Sen. Kerry's remarks were intended to provide the students in attendance at Pasadena City Community College with a caution that they must apply themselves to their academics or else wind up suited for nothing better in life than *gasp* military service and *horrors* a tour in Iraq. With such distinguished PCC alumni as
Sirhan Sirhan, Nick Nolte and Alex Van Halen, I think Sen. Kerry's remarks would have been better suited to a class of high school students had he said, "You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't you get stuck in a crappy community college." - MCPO USN

Sen. Kerry's initial comments and video clip shot through the ranks at light speed. The hilarious photo of our Guardsmen with the banner made the rounds even faster. My general impression was that the troops here saw this as "point and counterpoint" and then moved on. The apology was lost in the ground clutter. I have not heard a single soul even discuss it. But the troops are incredibly bright, morale is high, and many are enjoying a little twisted humor over the affair. I'm hearing casual greetings of, "Hiya Dumbass!" among close friends and comments like, "Damn, I could have been an aromatherapy major." when tackling an unpleasant task. I'm sending you a mock recruiting poster in a separate email that I received this morning from one of my active duty military counterparts (and a good friend) in this vein. I think I'll be getting things like this in my inbox for a while.

Well if the troops saw it as "point and counterpoint" then I'd say they've scored BIG with that counterpoint -- it's all over the internet now both nationally and internationally! There is nothing that quite compares to the military sense of humor. Gotta love it.

Thanks for the great "recruiting poster," Master Chief! I love it and it's the next post on this girl's blog!! I hope you'll share whatever else hits your inbox that you think readers here would enjoy.

Keep up the great work out there -- we all truly appreciate your service and that of your troops and compatriots in uniform as well!!

US Representative, Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is at it again. Rangel's prescription for fixing the ills we're feeling in Iraq is a draft . I have very mixed feelings about this. Conscription is conscription no matter what you choose to label it. Is that appropriate in a free country? Gee. I have found myself fascinated by the soap opera unfolding in the comments section of this blog since last night. One little mention on a controversial Democrat's blog and it's High Noon on ConservaChick! (Yes, I'm laughing while I type this.)
