Celebrate this Historic Day

I am still celebrating -- stayed up until 5am last night to watch the reports and the video -- missed most of my Sunday afternoon sleeping to make up for lost hours overnight but it was well worth it!

If you haven't checked in at Iraq the Model today, please do. Muhammad and Omar blogged their experience voting today. Your heart will swell with pride for them and for the Coalition. Together, we made this happen! God bless the new Iraq and her people!

Riddle me this, Lib... why is it that you all hide behind "Anonymous" when you seem so proud to point out one little article that predicts doom and gloom? Why not come right out and give yourself a name? Ashamed are you?

I imagine that your phrase "democracy at gunpoint" is meant to imply that democracy has come to the Iraqi people at the point of our guns. Yep. We deposed the dictator so we did indeed bring democracy to the people courtesy of our guns. Fine. No quibble with that.

As for your liberal press reference, I'd suggest you get your news from people who have a freakin' clue what's going on in their own country. Check out an Iraqi blog for once. The news right from the people who know what goes on. Do your own homework, Anonymous. It's worthwhile. Ooooh, I suppose I've just asked you to work... sorry. I'm sure that's anathema to your Lib nature. You're supposed to just wait for the Conservatives to do the research so you can say we're wrong... :-p

US Representative, Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is at it again. Rangel's prescription for fixing the ills we're feeling in Iraq is a draft . I have very mixed feelings about this. Conscription is conscription no matter what you choose to label it. Is that appropriate in a free country? On the flip side of this coin, I've often thought that compulsory national service would be a great idea for American kids right out of high school. It might have been a better start for me than learning to down beer at a Liberal Arts university! Gee. I have found myself fascinated by the soap opera unfolding in the comments section of this blog since last night. One little mention on a controversial Democrat's blog and it's High Noon on ConservaChick! (Yes, I'm laughing while I type this.) For those of you who have no idea what's happening in the ever-expanding comments section , join the club!
