One of the things I have long admired about the current administration is that President Bush has kept his convictions intact and acted upon them despite the polls, despite the unpopular opinion, and despite critics.
I am now embarrassed to say that I see all of that slowly crumbling. The Supreme Court has made a decision that, I believe, it had no power to make with regard to the detainees at our POW camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now the President is caving on his stance on that. I'm very disappointed.
Can we not all understand that these detainees are unlawful combatants who represent no nation state, who wear no uniform, and who show total and utter disregard for the rules of war? How has the Bush administration been led astray on this?!

The White House has dropped the ball on this one, IMO.
As much as I hate to agree with you on the "surrender," Scott, it sure seems that way, doesn't it? It's ridiculous when people in our own party are succumbing to the constant badgering of idiots. I thought we were stronger than that!!
Not only does it seem the White House dropped the ball, Kad, I think it was a severe slice right into the high reeds around the water hazard. The President ought to stick to his trusty driver on this particular hole!
