Critical Action Alert! Stop TARP #2 NOW!

As I'm on several "Tea Party" group email distribution lists, I tend to get similar alerts and messages from several places. All of them vary a bit in information and links to other sources so, especially on this particular issue, I will share all of them via the blog as they come in to me on email.

Please read these alerts and take whatever action you can take to help stop this in its tracks. Don't rely on your Republican Senator or Congressman to do what's right in this case. They are "compromising" as I type... They need to know that the R behind their name on ballots will never guarantee their re-election. As certainly as they throw our liberties to the wind so shall we throw their careers!

CONGRESS TRYING TO PUSH THROUGH MORE BAILOUTS - HELP US FIGHT BACK NOW!

Friends,

There is no time for playing in the dirt this spring.  Congress is back in session and once again, on the fast track to take away some of your freedoms and liberties.  They think we are not paying attention and are going to let them scoot this nonsense past us.  It is up to us to stand strong and stop their attempt at creating a PERMANENT bailout fund of $50 BILLION dollarsYes, you read that correctly! THIS IS TARP all over again!

Senate Bill 3217, also known as the Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010, was introduced by Democrat Senator Chris Dodd of Connecticut.  This bill may come to the Senate floor as early as today.  Once it comes to the floor, it can be voted on 72 hours later.  Time is of the essence in this matter!

You know the drill...we need all hands on deck to be calling, faxing, and emailing.  The list of targets is listed below.  If you call a Senator's office and they tell you that they don't represent you, please politely let them know that their vote affects all Americans.  You may also remind them of the power of the people...Senator Scott Brown's election and Congressman Bart Stupak's retirement are great examples!

You can read Senate Bill 3217 HERE.

Do you want to know more specifics on this horrendous legislation that is being shoved down our throats?  Just to give you a few examples of the horrors included in this legislative power grab...if passed, this will allow the federal government to access your personal bank records, credit card records, and financial portfolio!  This will allow for takeovers of "nonbank" companies and the government will determine this on a case by case basis and there is no judicial review required to take over any financial institution.  This legislation will also create a PERMANENT $50 Billion Dollar bailout fund (emergency fund) that the federal government can tap into on a whim.  Where is the oversight?  There is much more than this, but this should give you a taste of what they are attempting to do with this legislation.

What are you going to do to stop this?  Please call, email and fax today!  This cannot wait another day.

Please also email the Chief of Staff for each of these Senators.  They need to hear from you!

As the Blog Turns...

Gee. I have found myself fascinated by the soap opera unfolding in the comments section of this blog since last night. One little mention on a controversial Democrat's blog and it's High Noon on ConservaChick! (Yes, I'm laughing while I type this.) For those of you who have no idea what's happening in the ever-expanding comments section , join the club! Here's what I know about Mark Nickolas from bits and pieces I've read on his blog, and from a local news report: Nickolas likes to sneer at Republicans and call them snide little nicknames as he provides his "Unfiltered and Candid Look at Politics, Politicians and the Media in Kentucky;" he raised a ruckus within the Democrat party here in Kentucky by filing a suit against the chairman of the party , Jerry Lundergan; and he will be appearing on the same panel with yours truly on Thursday night. That's about it. You now have the benefit of my not-so-extensive knowledge on this subject. Nickolas poste...

Friday Night with Hugh and Friends

The consummate Conservative host, Hugh Hewitt, and yours truly! Shameless of me to post this, I know; however, I'm too jazzed to care. :-p What a wonderful way to spend a Friday night! After an hour or so wandering through some of the exhibits at the Frazier Historical Arms Museum, I then got to spend three hours with Hugh Hewitt and 599 other fans of his show. I absolutely MUST say that not only was Hugh wonderful and the live show very entertaining, but his fans are absolutely the nicest people! I've seen other radio talk show s done live and mingled with fans of those shows. Hugh Hewitt's fans are the nicest, most down to earth, friendly people I've ever met. It's quite a credit to Hugh that he draws such a fan base. If you haven't been to the Frazier Historical Arms Museum here in Louisville, it's a must-see. The museum shows an amazing artistry with the exhibits and places them in the context of the times in a very entertaining and educationa...

Is conscription the prescription?

US Representative, Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is at it again. Rangel's prescription for fixing the ills we're feeling in Iraq is a draft . I have very mixed feelings about this. Conscription is conscription no matter what you choose to label it. Is that appropriate in a free country? On the flip side of this coin, I've often thought that compulsory national service would be a great idea for American kids right out of high school. It might have been a better start for me than learning to down beer at a Liberal Arts university! Two years in the service might give kids time to think about their future, learn higher levels of responsibility, and begin to take life more seriously. There are many countries who require some level of mandatory military service: Belarus, Chile, China, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Iran, Lebanon, our neighbor Mexico, and our old buddy Germany, to name a few. Gee, now that I look at that partial list... aren't many of those countries Socialist or at battl...
