I know I said I'd be MIA today but couldn't resist posting this tidbit -- thank you, President Bush, for showing no hesitation in making it clear that it's okay to recognize the difference between a man and a woman! There are many reasons I admire this man and one of the reasons is showcased in this Washington Post article.
Women have been saddled for decades with the nonsense propagated by the femi-Nazis. Somehow we had to pretend to be men to gain respect in the workplace. Personally, I wore the silly little man-like suits with the scarf/string ties on the blouse all through the early 80s thinking "why do I have to pretend to be a man?" No matter how masculine I tried to be at work, I found that, hey, I still looked like a woman. And, lo and behold, I found that I achieved more success in my career when I simply showed up for work as MYSELF, a WOMAN, a unique INDIVIDUAL!
God bless President Bush for showing the sensitivity and courage to recognize that a woman still appreciates a peck on the cheek from a good friend!
