Can November 2004 possibly get ANY better? This is one month that will be marked in my memory as one of the happiest, healthiest, sane months ever. President Bush is re-elected in one of the most important Presidential elections in a lifetime; the terrorist Arafat finally dies leaving Palestinians with a more hopeful future; and Dan Rather announces his retirement! Wooohoooo! Party on the patio, y'all!!
The best retrospective I've read on Dan Rather's career is this piece by Slate's Bryan Curtis. Nice work, Bryan. Thanks to you, I'll remember Rather's madness fondly. Will I miss him? Naaaaaaaaaah.
Now, if CBS has any brains left in its news operation, they'll find Rather's replacement in the blogosphere where great minds know how to break a story "rather" than FAKE a story!
