The Corporate Extortion of Yum Brands

I'm sure anyone who receives the Sunday edition of the Communist Journal, noticed the huge story about the protests this week in Louisville. The big protest will be on Saturday, March 12th with Martin "I'm a Leftwing Lunkhead" Sheen leading the march... For anyone who's confused by all this hubbub, just let me say that it's about gaining more pay for illegal aliens at the expense of legal corporations.

These Are the Facts (according to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers' website):

52% of farmworkers are undocumented workers. Don’t be fooled by the Leftist use of the term “undocumented worker.” In other words, 52% of the farm laborers represented by CIW are illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are exactly what the label implies… ILLEGAL. It is against US law to hire any illegal alien.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 gave legal status to 2.5 million illegal aliens... those newly-legal citizens then left farm work for other occupations. Gee, big surprise that they left such poor working conditions and hard work once they were legal – they no longer needed to hide. Legal US citizens have legal protection against unscrupulous employers!

US citizens, “Green Card” holders (Legal Permanent Residents), and people with other work authorizations earn $5,000-10,000 more than illegal aliens. One would think that the improvement in income and living standards would be enough incentive for the “helpful” Leftists who are supporting the corporate extortion of Yum Brands to change direction and work on the actual problem. Why aren’t the Leftists/extortionists helping the illegals work toward legal status? Leftists hate corporations and are more than happy to ignore the law as it pertains to immigration if there’s a chance of embarrassing or extorting US corporations.

Don’t the facts (from CIW’s very own website) make you wonder why CIW is wasting time and money on corporate extortion rather than educating these foreigners on how to legally work in the US ??

I just hope that Yum Brands will hold the line and not allow the extortion of their company to be another notch in the belts of the Leftists!

UPDATE: Yum has caved into the extortion of the socialist CIW. As far as I know, we will be cancelling our PW mission to counter-protest the CIW at Yum HQ on Saturday. I'm disappointed in Yum Brands for caving on this issue. They are only paving the way for other illegals to extort money from other corporations in the future.

As the Blog Turns...

Gee. I have found myself fascinated by the soap opera unfolding in the comments section of this blog since last night. One little mention on a controversial Democrat's blog and it's High Noon on ConservaChick! (Yes, I'm laughing while I type this.) For those of you who have no idea what's happening in the ever-expanding comments section , join the club! Here's what I know about Mark Nickolas from bits and pieces I've read on his blog, and from a local news report: Nickolas likes to sneer at Republicans and call them snide little nicknames as he provides his "Unfiltered and Candid Look at Politics, Politicians and the Media in Kentucky;" he raised a ruckus within the Democrat party here in Kentucky by filing a suit against the chairman of the party , Jerry Lundergan; and he will be appearing on the same panel with yours truly on Thursday night. That's about it. You now have the benefit of my not-so-extensive knowledge on this subject. Nickolas poste...

Is conscription the prescription?

US Representative, Charlie Rangel (D-NY) is at it again. Rangel's prescription for fixing the ills we're feeling in Iraq is a draft . I have very mixed feelings about this. Conscription is conscription no matter what you choose to label it. Is that appropriate in a free country? On the flip side of this coin, I've often thought that compulsory national service would be a great idea for American kids right out of high school. It might have been a better start for me than learning to down beer at a Liberal Arts university! Two years in the service might give kids time to think about their future, learn higher levels of responsibility, and begin to take life more seriously. There are many countries who require some level of mandatory military service: Belarus, Chile, China, Croatia, Serbia, Russia, Iran, Lebanon, our neighbor Mexico, and our old buddy Germany, to name a few. Gee, now that I look at that partial list... aren't many of those countries Socialist or at battl...
