Okay, this is not news. It's not even a relatively new development. However, it is SO under my skin right now that I have to vent.
Can someone please explain to me how the heck we went from referring to the party of Democrats as the "Democratic" party?! The Republican party is not referred to as the "Republicanic" party, nor is the Green party referred to as the "Greenic" party, nor is the Libertarian party referred to as the "Libertarianic" party!
The semantics of this make me crazy. This is a complete hijack of the use of a term describing an ideal to which we aspire to mean a specific party. Where do I lodge the protest? with Howard Dean? YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!
