It's been quite some time since my last entry to this blog. For that, I apologize. So few hours in the day and even fewer the more hobbies one has!
Since last time I blogged, the world has changed. Terri Schiavo was killed with the consent of the Florida legal system; Pope John Paul II has shed his mortal coil and gone to his reward. The irony of the timing of these deaths does not go unnoticed by this mere mortal; nor should it go unnoticed by the public at large.
Terri Schiavo and her family's court battles brought some very important moral issues to the mainstream for the first time in a very long time. The Pope's death has reminded everyone of what it means to be courageous and stand on the right side of these same moral issues. The Lord does work in mysterious ways and only the spiritually blind will not be able to see His works here.
Anyone who hasn't already done so should say a prayer of thanks this evening for all of the good His servant, Pope John Paul II, has done for this world. I am not Catholic; I claim no organized religion. However, I am so very thankful for the time the Pope was given here on earth to do the good works that he did. Anyone who hasn't done so already should say a prayer of peace for the family of Terri Schiavo; although it may feel that her death was in vain, it is this Conservative's opinion that her death has brought about a badly needed discussion on some very important moral issues. For that, I am thankful; for that, Terri and her family will always be remembered. My heart goes out to her family and they are in my prayers. Anyone who hasn't done so already should educate himself on Living Wills.
