It's that time again: time for food, family, and football, right? Well, not entirely... It's time to remember all that you have to be thankful for this year; it's time to remember those who help make those things possible; and it's time to remember that we live in the greatest country on Earth. It's time to thank the Almighty for His blessings, for His guidance, and for His patience with His children.
This year the list of things for which I am truly thankful includes:
* the health and happiness of my family and friends;
* my health and the ability to provide for myself so that I may help others;
* the brave men and women of America and like-minded free countries who volunteer to give their all for higher ideals that will make this world a safer and better place;
* the strong and generous families who stand by those courageous men and women;
* the people who are able to separate fact from fantasy -- I'm proud to call many of them friends;
* the few Right-minded individuals in positions of power who stand by their principles regardless of polls, negative rhetoric, and nonsense;
* the patience of those who know the road to freedom is never smooth; and,
* the grit and determination of every man, woman, and child who works for freedom within his/her life and within his/her world.
If you're not sure what you have to be thankful for, let One Marine give you his point of view on the matter. It may open your eyes and change your own list!
This Thanksgiving, as in years past, please remember those Americans who cannot be home this year to share the day with their families. Set a place for them in your hearts and in your prayers. It is only through their courage and sacrifice that this country remains free.
