Okay, maybe I'm more sensitive to this than most because I come from a military family but veterans deserve to know that their most personal data is protected! What kind of "thank you" are we sending to vets when we allow some idiot government employee to put the personal data of 26 MILLION vets at risk?
The kind of sensitive personal data that is recorded on every person serving his/her country is extensive. After all, we ask them to become "government property" when they sign up. Don't we owe them the protection that such extensive personal data deserves? There are regulations forbidding the transport of such data outside of government offices. This employee should be sacked and sacked IMMEDIATELY! An official apology should be issued by our government to every veteran impacted by the loss of his/her personal data.
