GROUNDHOG DAY COMES TO FRANKFORT,WHERE EVERY DAY SEEMS THE SAME
– Harper to host media discussion Friday aboard campaign bus –LEXINGTON, Ky. – In commemoration of Groundhog Day and what will likely be six more weeks of politics as usual in Frankfort, Republican Billy Harper will host a dialogue with reporters aboard his campaign bus beginning at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, in front of the state capitol in Frankfort.
Harper, recognizing that each day at the capitol is starting to seem a little too much like that classic Bill Murray film "Groundhog Day," will discuss his campaign’s online petition to repeal the Alternative Minimum Tax as well as his plans to bring proven business leadership to the governor’s office.
“Unlike the private sector where great ideas flourish and bad ideas fail, the politics and policies in Frankfort never seem to change,” Harper said. “We need to repeal the alternative minimum tax and begin talking about additional ways to boost this state’s economy right now, not nine months from now when this election is over.”
All members of the media are invited to attend the Friday dialogue:
WHO: Billy Harper
WHAT: Groundhog Day Dialogue
WHEN: 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 2
WHERE: Harper campaign bus,
Capital Avenue, in front of the state capitol building

Gee. I have found myself fascinated by the soap opera unfolding in the comments section of this blog since last night. One little mention on a controversial Democrat's blog and it's High Noon on ConservaChick! (Yes, I'm laughing while I type this.) For those of you who have no idea what's happening in the ever-expanding comments section , join the club! Here's what I know about Mark Nickolas from bits and pieces I've read on his blog, and from a local news report: Nickolas likes to sneer at Republicans and call them snide little nicknames as he provides his "Unfiltered and Candid Look at Politics, Politicians and the Media in Kentucky;" he raised a ruckus within the Democrat party here in Kentucky by filing a suit against the chairman of the party , Jerry Lundergan; and he will be appearing on the same panel with yours truly on Thursday night. That's about it. You now have the benefit of my not-so-extensive knowledge on this subject. Nickolas poste...

Governor Fletcher is merely dishonest. Based on her actions, we know what Anne Northup is.
I applaud Mr. Harper for offering a clean campaign. I am sure that Governor Fletcher accepted that sticker because he's got some ethical problems hanging out to dry on the political clothesline. I am glad he's accepted the challenge.
Anne Northup, however, is known to play a tad negative in her campaign ads. She can do that against Fletcher given his dirty laundry -- it appears to me that she thinks her only real competition is Fletcher so she's reserving that tactic for him. It kind of makes sense to me that she would, frankly. I would caution her about that though if I were her advisor... people are sick and tired of the negative political ads. I know they are proven to "stick" with voters longer but most of us tune them out immediately anymore.
