"Islamists have long used jihad films of real or staged attacks against the Coalition forces in Iraq and Afghanistan in their persistent efforts to disparage claims by the U.S. and its allies that they are winning the war on terror. A film recently posted on the Islamist websites may serve as a transparent example of how the mujahideen stage an attack in order to intensify their psychological warfare against the Coalition forces, and possibly against the Western public as well." ...
In MEMRI's "Islamists Stage Jihad Attack for the Purpose of Psychological Warfare" (February 22nd dispatch), they confirm what many of us have thought all along: Terrorists are waging their war against civilization with more than bombs. They are media savvy and certainly know how to use it to pull the wool over many a sheep's eyes. Much of the content of these staged videos is working... terrorists are succeeding in fooling Americans and our coalition partners into believing that this war is lost.
Psychological warfare only works on people silly enough to believe everything they see and hear without putting the intellect into gear. Don't be a sheep. Keep an eye on what you see in the media. Ask yourself who produced that video and who vouches for its authencity and veracity. Chances are, you'll find no reliable answers to that question -- that ought to tell you all you need to know.
