...and just when I thought I might be overreacting a tad, I brought up a Google search page to do some research and what do I find?...
So now President Obama is soliciting questions on the economy via Google for the Whitehouse.gov website. Only, these aren't anonymous questions. You have to register an account to post a question. The site even keeps track of how many you "contribute."
So this is how it begins, eh? Threads of the Big Guy start weaving themselves onto our television screens and into our webpages until the cloth is all his making. We begin to think of any other cloth as "foreign" or "unAmerican" and the next thing you know we're helping him sew right over Old Glory to add the hammer and sickle.
We had press conferences from him when he was the "President Select" (before the Electoral College voted) and then more when he was the "President Elect" with his very own seal. Lately he's been on TV -- 60 Minutes interview, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and his latest prime time press conference -- almost daily while volunteers in the Obama Army knock on doors peddling his budget.
If a giant portrait of him is hung in Times Square or on the National Mall, I won't be the least bit surprised.

I think you need to revisit a dictionary. Let me help you with a few definitions:

We came no where CLOSE to a monarchy! Just because you and your other "libruhl" pals didn't like the results of the election, Bush became a "theocrat," a "monarch," and "Hitler." Nice.

You straddle the fence a bit as I read your posts, but as you continue to define your values you might want to see the direction this country, and particularly, your state, is taking.

I do not straddle any fences when it comes to the principles clearly outlined in the US Constitution. We, as American citizens, are enabled by the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms.
It is necessary and fitting for this country to enable its citizens to protect and defend ourselves and our country. (Not to mention that I enjoy shooting sports so that particular amendment is near and dear to me.)
We are free NOW but, if we're not careful, it may not always be so. Thanks to our founding fathers, we have the right to protect and defend our own freedom. We're good at it.
The Nazi crap is common at big gatherings at KCGR. The mainstream news outlets like to publicize those idiots every time there are machine gun shoots at Knob Creek.
Those of us who are big Second Amendment advocates are used to seeing that nonsense. As a Conservative, I understand the meaning of "individual" and I tolerate everyone's right to express himself as he sees fit. Unfortunately, Liberals like to group and label crowds so we get lumped in with that garbage.
Want to understand Conservatism? Drop the desire to label us fascists and take a look at Barry Goldwater's ideology, Ayn Rand's writings, and the concept of individuality. Then, you will truly understand the empowerment of our Constitution and Conservatism.
