Swallowing the Marxist Pill

Open wide and say "Ahhhh!" You'll need to stretch your throat over the next week or so. Just in case, you might want to practice swallowing that huge political pill called "change" that Barack Obama says we all need. It won't seem too bad at first but, when the sugar coating is gone, it's gonna be a HUGE pill to swallow. Most likely, it'll get stuck halfway down and be quite uncomfortable for a while. I'm pretty sure it's going to hurt. A lot. The pity of it all will be that we, Americans all, will choke on it knowing that we either (a) brought it on our fellow Americans with our ill-informed vote, or (b) quietly informed ourselves thinking that others must be doing the same, or (c) just stood by and watched it all unfold while burying our savings and our firearms somewhere in the hope that we will be able to ride it out. You, me, our neighbors, our co-workers, our friends -- we will have brought it on ourselves. Whether you vote for Obama or...

"Senator Government"

Well, what can you say about McCain's performance in the last of the debates Wednesday night? *sigh* Nothing dramatic, that's for sure. One thing you can say is that he tried. He was more aggressive, more insistent, and not quite as much a pushover as he was in the past two debates. Yep, he tried this time. What I find amusing though is that McCain's best line of the night was a Freudian slip! We Senator McCain addressed Obama as "Senator Government" before quickly correcting himself, it was a laugh-out-loud moment in the ConservaCouple's living room. Well done, Senator Slip... errr I mean, McCain.

McCain had better be McAble tonight

It's showtime in about 30 minutes. Senator McCain, if you or anyone on your staff has been asleep at the wheel recently, you will have missed all of the Conservative voices SHOUTING for you to TAKE OFF THE FREAKIN' GLOVES in the debate tonight. Seriously. If you want to feel the collective force of every Conservative in this nation jumping to their feet and applauding as one, you will choose your moment in tonight's debate carefully and then unleash a rhetorical but massive slap to the facade that is Obama. Not only will you leave him stuttering but you'll wake up the American "undecideds" in the process. We are counting on you tonight. We all know you're a good guy who prefers to avoid conflict but the problem is that people don't understand who Obama really is. They don't see you as much different from him and every other politician on the Hill. Most importantly, Senator, they don't understand that Obama and his Democrat cronies were behind t...

Where's ACORN when you need them?

Gee, the one time it would be a really great idea to register at least the Dallas Cowboys football team to vote in a race, where's ACORN?! Uh, yeah, that's right... they're in a lot of hot water . Seriously though, this race is as important as our current Presidential race. If you're an American Express cardholder, the time to vote is right now and the vote to cast is for this project: “Saving the Lives of Malnourished Children” is now guaranteed a share of $2.5 million in prize money. The project with the most votes receives $1.5 million, 2nd receives $500,000, 3rd $300,000, and 4th and 5th $100,000. The funding – made possible by your votes – would bring a vital lifeline to hungry and malnourished children around the world. But we need your help between now and October 13. Voting is easy and doesn’t cost a thing! In just a click, you can save the lives of thousands of malnourished children. [...] For severely malnourished children, we offer a step-by-step treatment ...

What do you get when...

...one McCurry dates a Shuler for a couple of years? Two McShulers , of course. Now what do you get when one McCurry marries one Shuler? Two Shulers! Greetings from the land of Mr. & Mrs. where the wedding is over and the "happily ever after" has begun! October 4th was an absolutely gorgeous day. We couldn't have been blessed with a more perfect day -- perfect for the three-minute ceremony indoors and for the 7-hour bonfire reception outdoors! Our thanks to the 75+ family members and close friends who came out to celebrate with us. A very big and very special thanks to those of you who gave time, talent, and treasure to create a magnificent wedding for us: With all our hearts, we appreciate and thank my parents, ConservaDude's Dad, Jessica, Bryan, Sean, Michael, and Mike for the time, talent, and treasure they put into providing the scrumptious spread of food, the culinary details that provoked oohs and ahhs at the tables, and the hard work of cleaning up the Sh...

The Royal "We"

...sitting here with ConservaDude watching this Presidential debate, I'm struck constantly by Barry's reference to "we" and "us." Are "we" royalty? or are "we" referring to the Democrat puppetmasters? John McCain is seriously holding his own against the royal onslaught of defensive posturing. I'm struck over and over by his sincerity and his grasp of what history has taught us. Good job, Senator. Keep up the good work.

McCain Gets It!

I've been listening to the pundits yammer on and on about how Senator McCain's decision to suspend his campaign was silly. It was grandstanding. Well, this ConservaChick is proud of Senator McCain for wanting to get back to DC and focus on the job he was elected to do. Apparently, none of the pundits get it but this time on this particular point, John McCain GETS IT! I couldn't be prouder of him! Granted, working on legislation to provide taxpayer funds to bailout the mortgage industry isn't my idea of time well-spent but if Senator McCain works AGAINST the bailout then I will stand and applaud for sure! His true Conservatism could certainly come shining through and do so against the Bush administration for a change. Then who would be the RINO, eh? *cough*W*cough* Government has absolutely no business nationalizing the mortgage industry. Ever. Period. If you bought into the Democrat's idea of helping the "little guy" buy a house even though he couldn't...

Free Kittens

Little Mary Pat had a box of very small kittens that she was trying to give away, so she had them out on the street corner with a sign "FREE KITTENS" next to them. Suddenly a big line of big black cars came up with a policeman on a motorcycle in front. The cars all stopped and a tall man stepped out from the biggest car. Senator Obama stepped out of one black car and approached the girl. "Hi, little girl, what do you have there in the box?" he asked. "Kittens" Little Mary Pat said. "They're so small, their eyes are not even open yet." "What kind of kittens are they?" he asked. "Democrats" says Little Mary Pat. The tall man smiled, returned to his car and they drove away. Sensing a good photo opportunity, Senator Obama called his campaign manager and told him about the little girl and the kittens. It was planned that they would return the next day, have all the media there and tell everyone about these great kitten...

When Mom gets excited, it's a good pick!

My mother called me on Friday, August 29th. I had taken the day off from work to finish preparations for a household move from one residence to the other. I hadn't heard a word of news all day. When I answered the phone, there was no small talk, as is the norm. There was one simple, breathless question that immediately hit the earpiece on my side. "Sorry to bother you while you're busy but have you heard the news?" she asked. I could not imagine what in the world would excite her so much. "No. What news? I've been packing all morning." "Guess who John McCain picked for his running mate!" I could hear the big smile in the question. She was giddy. Whoever it was, it was a damned good pick! I have never heard my mother so excited about anything political. She will enjoy a chat about a good speech or a chuckle over a good slam by one politician or another but I'd never heard this level of excitement over a candidate before. "Kay Bailey Hu...

Free corn, anyone?

One day during chemistry lab at a large college, the professor noticed one young man (an exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?" The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence,...

Ninja Convention

I'm sorry. I know this isn't even remotely political but I laughed myself silly and felt a need to share... (Thanks for providing the big laugh of the day, Kevin!)

"Gay for Obama"

Okay, I'm obviously very, very far behind on my internet gossip as I have just now seen the Larry Sinclair video which was big gossip news online toward the beginning of this year and for months afterward. From what I gather via browsing print press online, Sinclair appears to have failed a polygraph administered to him. ConservaChick's official line on any and all gay rumors applies here as much as anywhere else: Who cares? Not I. Here's the real reason behind the title of this particular post -- I ran across an amusing video called " Gay for Obama " on YouTube today. I would guess it was sparked by the Sinclair business since it was posted to YouTube back in March. At any rate, it's a freakin' riot! Enjoy! (Oh, PS and for the record: He was NOT "right about Iraq.")

Rewarding Failure

Incredible , absolutely freakin' INCREDIBLE ! Evidently, Republicans on The Hill don't think their base is paying attention out here. We are. Here's just a partial list of the Conservatives (read "not necessarily Republicans anymore") who are all eyes on this one: Freedom Works , AngryRenters , OpenMarkets , and many, many others. So while we watch Congress continue to make economic matters worse, let's put things in perspective, courtesy of Angry Renter . Corporate welfare has never been a good idea in my book. Darwinian of me, I suppose, but allowing the unintended effects of legislative tinkering with a "free" market to put us back on the proper track (albeit painfully) is intellectually the honest thing to do. If "Bob" in the above video didn't realize the risk he was taking when he took out that ARM on a house he couldn't afford in the first place, I'd be willing to bet Bob is a much smarter consumer now. Uh... well, he ...

I Love those Commies!

The comrades at The People's Cube just keep on gettin' it right and making me laugh! I know they're atheists but God bless 'em. I hope they keep up their hard work "for the common good" for years and years to come! If you need a good hearty laugh or ten, read " Iran's Mullahs Photoshop a Missile !" Tired of the constant barrage of "news" from the cult of Global Warming? Read " Drill ANBAR " for some alternative "news." hehehe And, last but not least, if you've noticed lately that BO seems to be changing his tune on issues since Hillary conceded the primary, you're not alone. Read all about Barack's Evil Twin for some enlightenment. PLEASE NOTE: If ConservaChick is dragged off in the night for liberally borrowing graphics from The People's Cube, please continue to enjoy their work. Even while making little ice cubes out of big ones in Siberia, I'll still shout, "They rock!"

No, it's not your imagination...

these gas prices *are* gonna kill ya! ;o) Brought to you by the folks at NozzleRage ; produced by the folks at National Banana . From the email release I received about this site, it would appear that some smart and talented people have decided to get serious about one of our biggest national security risks by using comedy to raise awareness. Nice! NozzleRage: America's Humorous Antidote to Fuming at the Gas Pump Every American is getting hosed. Each time we fill up our gas tanks, we are putting money into the hands of OPEC - the oil cartel led by Saudi Arabia. The Saudis and the other countries that make up that monopoly control most of the world's reserves. Most of them pay just a couple of dollars per barrel to get oil out of the ground. Yet, OPEC is limiting production and encouraging speculation that is costing us and other consumers hundreds of billions of dollars every year. It amounts to the largest artificially engineered transfer of wealth in history. OPEC is wagi...
